Hi, I’m going to talk about one of my favourite subject of this semester of Psychology; Violence, Power and Law. Violence, Power and Law is a subject about Politics, legal Phycology, Sociology and Philosophy. The format of the class is discussions about texts and authors corresponding to each class. The teachers make us sitting in a circle and talk about the authors and explain our political stance with respect to the main contents. The bad thing about the class is the amount of work to each class. Sometimes time is not enough, so you couldn’t finished the readings completely. Hi, Today I’m going to talk about Herbert Marcuse. Herbert Marcuse was a Jewish sociologist, philosopher, and political theorist born in German, on 1898.   He studied in Fritburgo University, with great authors like Edmund Husserl and Martin Heidegger. Later, he wrote a thesis about Hegel and the historicity, but his mentor, Heidegger, didn't approve that. Because of the Nazi Regimen, he had to immigrate to Paris and finished his studies at Frankfurt University. As time goes on, he became a prominent figure in the field of Philosophy. In 1952 he started a career as a teacher of Philosophy and Politics in the Columbia University and later in Harvard University.   When he retires, he started to work at California University, where he won a lot of influence, at to the point to become in the group of 3M: Marx, Mao, and Marcuse. Hi, I'm going to tell you about one of my favorites musician in the field of music; Tool. Tool is a band of progressive metal, experimental rock and post-metal arising in 1990 in L. A.   I love this band because they mix so many genres like heavy metal, alternative metal, art rock, and others. This style is so particular and original, and I could say that which one of them are genius in their instruments. The drums, for example, are very unpredictable and furious, the guitar is a bit depressive and with a lot of anger, the singer is very expressive and had a voice very unique; a warm and clean voice but also can sound very rough. The bass maybe is the hearth of the band and this thing, in particular, attracted me into this band and genre. Finally and not less important is the political content that has their lyrics, and the artistic way that they have to express this idea. I start to know this band and like them when I was maybe 15 years old. During...
